This movement will consist of two main parties:
Healthcare professionals who have agreed to The Patient Promise
- This includes as many clinicians as possible (physicians, nurses, physician’s assistants, physical therapists and the like) interested in improving their health for the sake of themselves and for the sake of their patients
- Our preliminary research has indicated a strong desire amongst current and future clinicians for advice, recommendations, literature on how 1) live a healthier life, and 2) successfully motivate and enable patients to live healthier lives as well. We will provide this in the form of monthly newsletters highlighting such information and a comprehensive website that expands upon each clause of The Patient Promise.
- As an organization we will serve as advocates for our members, lobbying as requested to employers to help clinicians (and patients) live healthier lifestyles (i.e., requesting healthier food options be made available in a hospital).
- Finally, it will be the responsibility of this group to assess the efficacy of The Patient Promise through qualitative feedback and quantitative research, and seek ways to maximize its utility.
